How to copy music from Mac OS to the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge
Downloading pictures from android to mac. If you’re new to wielding both a Mac computer and an Android smartphone, the first thing you’ll need is a little program called Android File Transfer (AFT). Free from the Android website, this Mac OS app gives you drag-and-drop convenience when connecting any Android device, be it a tablet, smartphone or more specifically, Galaxy S7.
How to auatomatically download to desktop on mac. Once AFT is installed, grab the USB cable that came with your S7 and, ensuring your phone is on and unlocked (as in not on the lock screen), plug it into your Mac. If Android File Transfer doesn’t automatically start up, go to Launchpad or the Applications folder in Finder to locate and manually open it.
When Android File Transfer appears it’ll show you a list of directories (read: folders) on your Galaxy S7’s internal storage. Look for the Music folder and double-click it to open it up.
From here it’s simply a case of dragging and dropping music files from your Mac into the Android File Transfer window, and they’ll automatically be copied across to your Galaxy S7.
Once the transfer is complete, just close AFT and you can then disconnect your phone and enjoy your tunes.

Simply connect your phone to your PC or laptop using the bundled micro USB cable and then open a Windows Explorer window. You can do this by hitting the Windows key and ‘E’ at the same time.
Click on ‘My Computer’ or ‘This PC’ depending on the version of Windows you’re using and look for the ‘Devices and Drives’ section – this is where your Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge will appear.
If for whatever reason the phone doesn’t appear in the Explorer window, make sure it’s switched on, unlocked and connected as a media device. You can check what connection type your S7 is using by swiping down the notifications panel – this is also where you can change the connection type if the phone isn’t set to media device by default.
Once your phone appears, double-click to open it up and look for a folder called Music. Find the music files you want to transfer over to your S7 and then simply drag and drop them into the S7’s Music folder window. They will be copied across and once complete, you can close the Explorer windows and disconnect the micro USB cable.
How to copy music from iTunes to the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge
If you want to copy your iTunes music across from your Mac or Windows PC, you can use the drag and drop methods detailed above (assuming your songs are already stored locally on your computer, otherwise you’ll need to download them first). Here are the most likely paths for both Mac OS and Windows:
Alternatively, you can download Samsung’s Smart Switch software and install that on your Mac or Windows PC. This allows you to transfer content directly from iTunes to your S7 via the phone’s USB cable.
How to copy music to the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge’s MicroSD card
One of the most significant features that Samsung reintroduced after its absence on last year’s S6 line was microSD expandability, which is a great alternative means of physical file transfer that doesn’t require any special software on either Mac OS or Windows.
If you already have a microSD card in your S7 or S7 Edge, (ensuring the phone is switched off) use a SIM tray removal tool to pop the phone’s SIM tray out and remove the microSD memory card. Then insert the microSD card into your Mac/PC (you might need a microSD to SD or microSD to USB adapter depending on your machine).
Once your computer recognises a memory card has been inserted a window should automatically open up, however if it doesn’t, open a Finder window on Mac OS or an Explorer window on Windows 10 and look for the SD card as you would any other USB storage device or flash drive.
Then it’s simply a matter of finding the desired music files on your computer and copying them onto your microSD card. Once the copying process is complete, safely eject your microSD card from your Mac or PC, place it back into the hybrid microSD/SIM tray of you S7 or S7 Edge, slide the tray back into the phone and power it on.
You should then be able to find the music you just copied onto your microSD card from within the phone’s music player and file manager.
